History of Cape Kidnappers
The course was funded with capital infused by the American billionaire Julian Robertson and designed by one of the most well known golf architects Tom Doak. The former sheep station turned golf course follows a sense of minimalism with as little being done to the land as possible.
The course was completed in 2004 and since then has received many awards and accolades. This dramatic golf course is perched 140 meters above sea level and with firm and fast surfaces the course plays unlike any course in the world! This course poses a unique challenge for golfers of all skill levels and just to top it off you have a spectacular view of the bay from every single hole at Cape Kidnappers!
The Cape Kidnappers Experience
Playing Cape Kidnappers is a unique experience! To understand the seclusion and privacy at this course here is a little fun fact. The drive from the gates to the clubhouse takes a full 20 minutes. This end location is definitely worth it, you are perched on the cliffs hundreds of feet above the waves crashing in Hawke’s Bay!
